This is the story of how a seemingly innocent interaction on social media almost led to a serious breach of my personal security. It started with a follow request from an attractive stranger. Their profile was full of pictures that looked genuine—sunny vacations, gym selfies, and even a few with pets. They started liking my posts, commenting on my photos, and eventually slid into my DMs. At first, it was just casual conversation, but soon, they were asking more personal questions.
