The Pursuit of Wisdom - Wisdom Is Not Enough
Proverbs, like Psalms, maybe a Fall Festival book of Wisdom read by the King to the congregation. And the Book of Ecclesiastes is still read at the Feast of Tabernacles today. Proverbs focus on the pursuit of Wisdom. Then Ecclesiastes takes a dark turn and says that everything, including Wisdom, is for nothing. It is pure nihilism. In the end, the reader moves toward the understanding of God.
"Labor" is contrasted in these two books as a major theme. Is there meaning in labor and our works?
