Two years ago, billionaire entrepreneur Peter Thiel suggested that, during a cryptography conference 23 years ago, he met the person or group calling themselves Satoshi Nakamoto. He even came close to admitting he knew Satoshi’s precise identity. Now, following Thiel’s colleague Balaji Srinivasan predicting that bitcoin will be worth $1 million, these rumours have come to the surface again.
It’s possible that Thiel did know Satoshi as he did run in the same circles as them — from being a member of the PayPal Mafia to befriending Srinivasan and the founder of the first Bitcoin magazine, Vitalik Buterin.
