Cryptid Campfire

This week on Tall Tales we talk about the cousin of the Mokele Mbembe, the Kasai Rex. While not a sauropod like the Mbembe, this is a man eating, elephant eating Tyrannosaurus Rex living in the heart of Africa! So gather around the Campfire and listen to us break it down. A small disclaimer: Due to COVID-19 we are not able to meet up in person to record our episodes, but we are still committed to getting content out to you all, so please bear with us as we experiment with different alternatives to recording online as it will result in fluctuating audio quality. I hope you still enjoy this episode although the audio is not great. We have since found another alternative to this method which records higher quality audio and we have also upgraded our mics. So this time next week we should sounding normalish more or less.

This week the Campfire visits the jungles of Java to discuss the giant bat like creature known as the Ahool. Named after the sound it emits, the Ahool is reported to fly at incredible speeds, eat fish and sometimes eat humans. Let's gather around the campfire and get to the bottom of this.

Nearly 900 years ago in a small village known as Woolpit, farmers stumbled upon two mysteriously green children who spoke in a strange language and wore strange clothing. This is the topic of discussion in this week's Tall Tales, thank you everybody and we hope you enjoy this one!

This week the Campfire meets up with Nash Hoover, host of the Chasing Legends TV show which is currently available to watch on YouTube. He talks with us a little bit about the Pukwudgie and shares his plans to launch a kickstarter to start funding the first full season of Chasing Legends.

Pukwudgies are known for their trickery and the harm they do to man, but it wasn't always that way. Gather around the Campfire this week as we talk about the legend of the Pukwudgie and its history with humans.

This week in Tall Tales Eli and Alex break down the legend of our home field, Los Angeles. We also reveal the origins of the Cryptid Coliseum and if that doesn't sound any good, just wait till you found who is joining us on this episode!

Originating from Brazilian folk lore, the Mapinguari is a cyclops like beast with backwards feet and a mouth in place of its stomach.

This week we talk about the most amazing conundrum of Australia, the Bunyip. While descriptions may vary on this beast, one thing is certain: it hunts man and dances with the devil in the pale moonlight.

This week we take on perhaps the most American Cryptid besides Bigfoot, the Jackalope! This horned hare has some pretty intense abilities and aggressive behavior but that doesn't stop the people of Douglas, Wyoming from loving it!

This week we are joined around the Campfire with Tobias and Emily Wayland of the Singular Fortean Society and we talk Research, Small Town Monsters and Mothman's rock hard abs.

This week we talk about the cat snake AKA the Tatzelwurm. This feline lizard lives in the alps of Europe and is said to be both poisonous and venomous just like another cryptid we've talked about on the show before.

This week we interview Dr. John Stamey, paranormal investigator and researcher. He chats with us about the Lizardman of Bishopville and his personal encounter with Sasquatch.

In the first episode of Tome V, Cryptid Campfire discusses the Loveland Frogman, with all their leathery skin and wizard powers. Jasmine also reveals her sighting of a Frogman and to top it all off, we pit the Frogman against another cool cryptid, but what could it be?
