Sermon Application Questions:
1. Do you find it challenging to consider that God is sovereign over both the good and bad of our lives, both “well-being” and “calamity” (45:7)? What difficulties does that truth create? What difficulties does it resolve?
2. Describe a difficult situation in your life right now. How could you imagine God using it to conform you to the image of Jesus (Romans 8:28-29)? Is there anything you can do to participate in God’s transforming work through that hardship?
3. Have you found yourself questioning God’s wisdom and goodness in the things he has brought into your life? How does this passage help someone questioning God?
4. Read Psalm 10. How does this psalm show us what it might look like to turn to God when we have questions about his plan?
