The Department of Health and Human Services is moving to reform the organ transplant industry in the United States. This follows a study that found that some hospitals allowed organ procurement to begin despite patients showing signs of life. HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. called the prospect “horrifying,” and said the entire system needs to be fixed.
