In 2014, Japanese tourist Atsumi Yoshikubo traveled alone to Yellowknife, Canada, seemingly to witness the northern lights, despite it being the off-season for viewing. After a few days, she mysteriously disappeared, leading to an extensive search by the community and authorities. The investigation revealed evidence suggesting she may have planned to enter the wilderness with the intent to die. Her remains were eventually discovered nearly a year later, leaving the community haunted and her family searching for closure.
