Aqua Tofana, literally meaning Tofana Water, is quoted as the “slow-poisoning and husband killing” concoction created in Italy in the 1600s. Depending on the dosage and usage, the side effects caused by the lethal ingredients were just as disguised as the potion itself – displayed as perfume or a makeup powder.
