On June 29, 2025 two veteran firefighters - Frank Harwood and John Morrison - were ambushed and killed, with a third critically injured on Canfield Mountain near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The suspect, 20‑year‑old Wess Roley, reportedly set a brush fire to lure first responders, then opened fire from a concealed position before taking his own life.
