In Illinois, 30-year-old teacher Christina Formella is facing 55 criminal charges, accused of sexually abusing a teenage student she was entrusted to tutor and coach. The case has gone viral on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram, fueled by thousands of texts, disturbing diary entries, and a growing media frenzy. With her next court date set for October 14th, prosecutors allege the abuse lasted nearly two years and involved dozens of encounters. If convicted, Formella could face up to 60 years in prison.
