San Bernardino Mountains, CA: When a passerby spotted feet protruding from a trash bag on a rain-slicked turnout, deputies braved a steep ravine and racing stormwater to recover an unidentified body. Prints revealed the victim was 28-year-old Corey Desmond from Redondo Beach who hadn’t even been reported missing. With forensic clues washed away and only a grainy bar-cam clip to go on, detectives spent months chasing dead ends until a frightened tipster pointed straight to a killer hiding in plain sight.
