Welcome to Crann na Beatha Short Stories and Poetry for Nov. 10th, 2023
I thank you for welcoming me back to your village again this week with more stories and poetry for everyone.
First, the important stuff.
This once a week podcast is available to listen to in nearly every podcast platform out there. Also in the blog section of my web site, and now crann na beatha on YouTube.
My shows are free to subscribe to but I do have a donations tab on the rss.com webpage as seen in the link with the newsletter, and on my website at www.crann-na-beatha.com. Think of it as passing the hat at the end of my visit to your digital village.
Once again, I wish to transport everyone to a magical place under the village oak tree to sit down and listen or to read the poems and stories I have brought today.
I have three poems and four short stories for you this week. They are of different genres and themes. Fitting for everything that is going on in the world now and the season of transition from fall to winter.
And now, I present to you this weeks wonderful selections.
She writes that this poem was written at the beginning of the Ukraine war but is very fitting right now.
I Don’t Want to Write About War
But even nowadays, there are wars
A seasonal poem that is absolutely delightful
A Month of Poetry (Solivagant)
Another wonderful poem about the Gods and Mother Earth.
We can crawl out of our shells, and rebrand
This story is one that will grab you at the end and not in a scary way.
A sleepy romance between two restless souls
A short story from a Canadian friend who has promised to give us much more, which I will share soon.
Sanctuary — A Science Fiction Novel
The story of two teenagers trying to survive apocalypse.
This is a scary childrens story. One that should be listened to with or read by a parent to their young children.
By Twisted Tales to be Read Before Bed
A story of love and hope in a barren world.
Only the truest friend can give you a deadly gift
By David Pahor
I hope you enjoyed this weeks show. I try to offer everyone a variety of different fictional stories and poetry, and maybe something that touches the heart a little at times.
My parting song for this week is titled Sunset Dreams by Clannad in their Banba album from 1993. Download or listen to the podcast to hear them. Until next time. Sláinte
Go raibh míle maith agat. Thank you for listening to the show today. I hope you enjoyed it and that you will return again for another episode of Crann na Beatha Stories and Poetry next week. Share this with your friends and relations, the more the merrier. Search for Crann na beatha Stories and Poetry in your favorite podcast app.
I hope I have achieved my goal in helping you feel like we’ve been sitting under the village oak tree as I try to entertain you today. As a Seanchaí, I want to continue to delight you with a story or a poem that may bring you a smile or make you think a little after we part for the day.
As I say good bye this week, I wish to leave you with this Irish blessing as you go about your day. “Bless you and yours, as well as the cottage you live in. May the roof overhead be well thatched, and those inside be well matched.” Slán go fóill.
