Show Notes

Part of being a Mommy Millionaire is being a mom! We talk a lot about the millionaire part of this life, but what about the parenting side? In this episode, Cayla tackles one of the more challenging pieces of parenting: discipline.

Remember that not everything that works for one family will work for another. Cayla is still a parent to young children and these are the things that work for her. Admittedly, discipline might even look different per child in a single household and Cayla explains why.

So listen as Cayla describes the 3 D’s in the Craft household, why they are Craft family standards, and how they connect to living the life God has intended.

You will learn:

  • [2:46] - Everything done in someone’s household may not be best for everyone.
  • [3:29] - Think back to your childhood and remember the things you loved and the things you don’t want to bring into your children’s lives.
  • [4:49] - Order and discipline creates safety in your child’s mind.
  • [6:51] - The 3 D’s that require discipline are disobedience, disrespect, and dishonesty.
  • [8:39] - Cayla gives an example of a conversation with her daughter.
  • [10:24] - Consequences look different for different children.
  • [11:12] - What will make them think and act differently next time?
  • [12:44] - Disrespect shows up as eye-rolling, changing the tone of voice, back talking, etc.
  • [14:18] - What does it look like to honor your father and mother?
  • [15:31] - Open communication is important.
  • [16:42] - When it comes to dishonesty, the small things can lead to big things.
  • [19:16] - The Craft children understand the 3 D’s in the household and know that these are boundaries and standards.
  • [20:32] - Giving them the word of God is the most important thing you can do for your kids. Living it yourself is the next step.
