Cheers to drinking with friends and drinking in person! This week, Greg is at Poseidon Brewing Co. in Ventura, CA. Poseidon has been around since 2013 and is a staple in the Ventura County craft scene. Co-founder and head brewer Brian Oliver, aka Olly, and assistant brewer Anthony Stotts, aka Ant, sit down to talk brewing, surviving a pandemic, and their love for craft beer.Olly talks about his previous life as an underwater construction diver with the Navy, how he transitioned to brewing, and how he discovered (and couldn't get rid of) assistant brewer Ant. The guys talk about their process for coming up with new beers, some of their more colorful beer names, and what separates them from other local spots. We also find out what beers got the two guys hooked on craft beer in the first place. The dynamic duo also discusses persevering through a pandemic and multiple shut-downs, how they stay innovative, and how vital canning is.
