In continuing our study of some of the names of God from the Old Testament, we will consider today God as Jehovah-Gibbor— The Lord Mighty in Battle.

Theree are often unjustices in life regardless if one is a wife, husband, child, parent, servant, or master. All injustices (as well as just services) will be acknowledged and receive their proper evaluation at the judgment. The believer will receive his at the judgment seat of Christ and the unbeliever at the great white throne judgment. The important thing is that regardless of our place of service we must be faithful as the Lord would have us to live.

This subject is one of a most sensitive matter in the day in which we live; however, we cannot ignore the plain teaching of the Holy Scriptures of the Lord. I realize that the majority of society have been so indoctrinated that they are totally prejudiced concerning what the Bible says. Everyone is a servant or slave to something or someone.

This is a continuation of our study regarding some of the names of God from the Old Testament. Today we will consider God as Jehovah-El Elyon—The Most High God.

The purpose of the Lord's Supper is to show the Lord's death. Sadly, it is presented as a mystical experience whereby some special blessing or esoteric feeling from the Lord. The Lord's Supper is simply an ordinance showing the truth of the death of Christ which is salvation is totally by the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ died to save those whom the Father gave Him. To teach anything else is not reflective of the Lord's Supper.

It is evident in society today that children as a whole have no respect for their parents. This appears to be another sign of the judgment of God on our nation today.

This is a continuation of our study regarding some of the names of God from the Old Testament. Today we will consider God as JEHOVAH.

While wives portray the authority in the home, it is the responsibility of the husbands to instill love. Equally, the husband is commanded not to be bitter or picky of the wife.

The authority and structure in society is foundational in the home. The idea of submission to authority is lost in our culture today and is evident by the chaos, confusion, disorder, and pandemonium that is overflowing in every circle.

Today we are continuing our study regarding some of the names of God from the Old Testament. Today we will consider God as El Olam, the Everlasting God.

We are to be filled with the Word of Christ (the Holy Scriptures) as we worship the Lord in singing so that we may not only honor and glorify Him but edify one another. This is not a suggestion; it is a Divine imperative. Our singing first and foremost is to the glory of God but also teaching and admonishing each other whether it be by a psalm, a hymn, or a spiritual song.

The Christian lifestyle is one of putting off old sinful practices and habits and replacing them with Christian virtues. This is the constant struggle of each child of grace as long as he lives in this world. This too is living by faith.

Today we are continuing our study concerning some of the names of God from the Old Testament. Today we will consider God as El Shaddai, God Almighty.

Those who live a life of sin shall received the wrath of God. Though Christians once lived in sins and deserved the wrath of God, thankfully we received mercy from the Lord. Equally, we are not to continue in sinful practices. If professing Christians practiced putting off sinful habits there would be no divisions in Christianity.

Mortification of sin is not removing the sin-nature. We will continue to have this sinful nature as long as we live in this sinful body. When sin appears we are not to dwell on it or allow the members of our body to engage in the practice of it.

Today we are continuing our study regarding some of the names of God from the Old Testament. Today we will consider God as Adonai.

This is the beginning of a study of some of the names of God from the Old Testament. By the help of the Lord it is our desire to not only honor God, but to stir up your pure mind and to provide some Divine consolations regarding Him.

Jesus Christ was not a phantom nor "cunningly devised fables"; He was an historical reality. Likewise, His second coming will be an historical fact. He is coming again. He is coming in glory. Equally, we will appear with Him in glory. This is history in prophecy.

Jesus Christ did not make redemption possible; He redeemed His people-the elect of God. He finished the work and entered into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God making intercession for the people of God. The believer is to set his affections on these things where Christ is seated and not to set his affections on the things of the earth.

Since we are judicially dead to sin and are complete in Christ, we are to strive to set our affections on things above where Christ is seated on the right hand of the Father.

Not only have the rules and regulations of the Old Testament laws under Israel been done away and were only shadows and types of the mystery of godliness of the New Testament, but also we are not to be enslaved to the regulations and statues of fellow believers. We are to serve the Lord with all fulness by devoting all our attention to the honor and glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Christ Jesus did all that is needed for our justification and He redeemed His people so that all trespasses are forgiven and the handwriting of ordinances against us was blotted out. Everything the enemies of Christ threw at Him to hinder Him was in vain because the made triumphed over all principalities and powers.

Circumcision without hands is simply regeneration or the new birth. Baptism is a picture of salvation as performed in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Baptism is a profession of the faith of the believer and that he was in the death of Christ and judicially identified in Him.

The Christian is complete in Christ and needs nothing else for his salvation. We are fully justified, faultless, blameless, unreproveable and all other essentials in Christ. We live in a world filled with psychology and therapists striving to sort out why people are empty, void of purpose, and looking for satisfaction in life. The truth is one is only complete in Christ. If a person is not complete in Christ he will never find fulfillment in anyone else or in anything.

More on all the fullness dwelling bodily in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is important to know, as Lightfoot said, "It is not 'in a body' for Deity cannot be so confined. It is not 'in the form of a body' for this might suggest the unreality of Christ's human body, but 'bodily,' i. e., bodily-wise, or with a bodily manifestation."

Today we conclude our study concerning the doctrine of perseverance. We shall see that the elect are preserved by triune power of the Trinity.

The philosophies of the world are in opposition to the truth of the Holy Scriptures. While the creation clearly declares the divinity of God, the deity of God is manifested bodily in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Excellent knowledge is essential in spiritual growth in the life of a believer. Though we cannot fully comprehend the mystery of the Godhead, it is needful that we understand some things about it. Also, we must know that all the treasures of the wisdom and knowledge are hid in Christ.

Christ and the New Testament did not quote from the Septuagint. God would have use to search out, study, and understand the truth of the Scriptures; for example, we should be able to understand the definition of the hypostatic union of Christ.

Today we begin studying the doctrine of perseverance. Too often this is set in opposition to preservation when in reality both are the two sides of the same coin.

Paul exhorted the congregation at Colosse to be knit together and unified in the Spirit.

Today we conclude studying the experimental aspect of sanctification in the life of the believer as he lives on earth and his final and complete sanctification in glory.

Paul had a passionate desire for all saints to be established in the faith and be likeminded in the love of God; even to those he had never seen.

The hidden mystery spoken of in Colossians and Ephesians was that the Gentiles would be brought into the kingdom and on the same level with the Jews. Paul warned every man and this is the centrality of the gospel. Likewise, he labored and strived to present the believer as a chaste virgin unto the Lord.

Today we continue studying the experimental aspect of sanctification in the life of the believer as he lives on earth and his final and complete sanctification in glory.

Sufferings and afflictions do not only affect the individual but extend out to the congregation. The effects of Paul's sufferings were not limited to him but they were beneficial to the congregation. Likewise, the sufferings of each member affect the congregation. We not on rejoice together but we suffer together as well.

Only those who are grounded and settled in the faith and not moved away from the hope of the gospel are reconciled by Christ and are holy, unblameable, and unreprovable in the sight of God. It is such faithful believers that are often persecuted for righteousness' sake and are blessed to commune with Christ.

What a wondrous blessing that Christ in the body of His flesh reconciled His people to God and we stand holy, unblameable, and unreproveable in His sight. This promise is to those who continue in the faith. The "if" is not an if of a hypothetical condition but one of certainty.
