An idol can be made of any good thing: comfort, pleasure, approval, success, control, security. Anything that we love other than or more than God is an idol. Idols are personally offensive to God; they are weak; they are destructive. But we have a Savior. The Lord is the only One who can set us free to worship Him and Him alone.
