Augie Meyers, the legendary keyboardist and accordion player, has passed away. Known for his work with the Sir Douglas Quintet and Texas Tornados, Meyers blended country, Tex-Mex, and rock into a unique Texas style. He joined Texas Tornados in 1989, helping spread Tejano, conjunto, and Norteño sounds. After the groups disbandment, Meyers continued to perform and collaborate with various artists, releasing numerous solo albums. His music captured the Tex-Mex heartbeat and shared Texas culture with the world, leaving a lasting legacy.
