People need other people. Fear of abandonment is a survival response that is present from birth. In childhood, abandonment can be a life or death situation. Adults with fear of abandonment often have not identified the roots of their fears so that they can better understand and choose helpful reactions as adults, for whom abandonment is unpleasant, but often not a life or death situation. This podcast explores the roots of abandonment and proposes some techniques to help clients challenge those long held beliefs.
