Parental Trauma is often defined by what a child perceives of how they were treated or spoken to - but it also appears in what a child grew up watching. Season 2 Episode 5: Generational Parental Trauma with Achie Nimo

All things work together for good whether we know it or not. A breakup led to depression and that led to resolving lingering hurt between a mother and daughter.

Achie Nimo is not a guest to this podcast, we have loved her insights and wisdom on season 2 when she gave us nuggets to survive Valentines without pressure. In this episodes she returns with a conversation dedicated to her late mother.

Parental trauma shows up in many different ways and one that is quite heavily missed is generational parental trauma simply because we assume if we go through a bad traumatising episode we will not do it to anyone else and more so our own child that we love - but that is not the case. Achie sits down with our host, Kalekye, to reveal the things she discovered about her mum in a journey that began after her own heart was broken by a man she was engaged to and through it a journey of healing and understanding began.

Though time cut the journey short when Achie lost her mother to cancer, she still cherishes the moments of therapy, healing and understanding that finally let her see her mother as a friend and a safe space.

If you have an urge to crack your parental wound or just share what you've learnt about them, it's time to get in touch with us and come to the show.

Email us on [email protected] and we can host you next.

Follow us: IG - @conversationswithkalekye & @kalekyemumo TikTok - @therealkalekyemumo
