More than 427,000 people are diagnosed with Lyme Disease in the U.S. each year. This is more than Hepatitis C, HIV, colon cancer, and breast cancer, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

However it is often inaccurately diagnosed. And many health care providers don't understand the full range of affects nor the impact on patients. It is important for talk therapists to understand not just the physical symptoms but the mental health symptoms that may present with someone living with Lyme Disease.
