Lesley is a Social Seven, born in Nebraska and raised in the mid-west. Rick is a One-to-One Two, born in Arizona and raised in Los Angeles. They met in Austin in 1997, both divorced, with children mostly out of the nest. Lesley had made as living as a marketing VP for a credit union; Rick had made his living as a police psychologist. Lesley and Rick began studying the Enneagram in 1997, and found that it provided light, humor and hope. They use the Enneagram daily, in their work, in their relationship, and in their spiritual practice. Their type defenses frequently trigger reactions in one or both, but the recovery time is shorter with each event. The Mother's Bill Of Rights with Graeme Seabrook
Happy Mother's Day! Being a mom is hard work, and few people know that better than Graeme Seabrook. Graeme is a life coach just for moms and on this week's episode we talk about how mothers can care for themselves and reclaim their personhood. Graeme is a Motherhood Life Coach, whose approach to coaching is based on the belief that you must be a priority in your own life in order to thrive. Following a traumatizing birth experience and postpartum depression, anxiety, and PTSD Graeme began a healing journey as a mother and a woman. That healing journey led her to creating The Mom Center, a social network and group coaching community for those who mother. The Mom Center is a space where mothers can come to be witnessed, nurtured, inspired and supported so that they can integrate motherhood with personhood, and not the other way around. She does this work because she believes we are living in a global culture that treats mothers as if we are inhuman, and expects us to be superhuman. Graeme's work is dedicated to helping mothers reclaim their humanity. www.theproblemwithmotherhood.com If you want to learn more about me and what I do, check out my website here: www.abirobinsyoga.com And if you want to be the first to know what's up with me and when new episodes drop, sign up for my email list here: https://www.abirobinsyoga.com/email-signup This is a public episode. From the Front Porch to the Living Room with Kevin Garcia (Enneagram 8)
How on earth do you share your life on the internet and still have a life "irl?" Kevin Garcia knows, and in today's episode we sit down to talk about the difference between authenticity and intimacy, living in the public eye, and being an Enneagram 8. Kevin Garcia is... a speaker, creative, musician, content creator and worship artist based in Atlanta, GA. He graduated from Christopher Newport University in 2013 with a BM in Music Education and has been everything from a barista to a corporate office worker to a non-profit professional since then. After coming out in the fall of 2015 as a gay Christian, Kevin has reached thousands of individuals across the globe with his blog, theKevinGarcia.com, his podcast, "A Tiny Revolution," on his YouTube channel where he unpacks theology and addresses life as a queer person of faith, and through speaking engagements at churches, universities, and festivals. Kevin also works with The Reformation Project, an LGBTQ direction action organization with a mission to make the global church more inclusive for queer people. He is presently a candidate for a Masters of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA. He believes that by telling our stories, we set others free to tell theirs. In addition to LGBTQ advocacy, Kevin's passions include vocal jazz, tacos, and really horrible dad jokes. What is the More? Faith, Relationships, and Yoga with Amanda Green
In today's episode I sit down with my personal yoga therapy mentor and primary teacher, Amanda Green. Amanda candidly discusses her journey with faith and challenges she faced in her marriage. She also shares how engaging with her yoga practice and undergoing the process of yoga therapy helped her to see both her faith journey and her relationship with her husband with fresh eyes. Amanda took her first yoga class in 2001 and has been practicing ever since. After moving from Seattle to Austin in 2010, she enrolled in a hatha yoga teacher-training program and soon after completion, she began teaching yoga full-time. Amanda met her teacher and mentor, Chase Bossart in 2011 and her yoga practice took a turn toward a more gentle and therapeutic approach and her yoga study expanded to embrace the broader teachings of yoga. Yogic philosophy and texts, practices including āsana (postures), prāṇāyāma (breathing techniques), meditation, vedic chanting and the practical application of the tools of yoga for therapy are all a part of Amanda's ongoing practice and study. Amanda has over 15 years of personal yoga practice, 2,000+ teaching hours and more than 1,200 hours of yoga training. She is a graduate of the YATNA yoga therapy training program, and a certified IAYT yoga therapist. Amanda lives in Austin, TX with her two daughters, husband, and extended family.
