Commemoration
Today we commemorate Bernard of Clairvaux, Hymnwriter and Theologian. Born into wealth, Bernard abandoned a life of affluence and entered a monastery at twenty-two. Eventually he was sent to start a new monastery, which monastery would go on to found many daughter houses, but he is best known for his preaching and hymn-writing.
