Ep 45Remote Working with Zoom and StreamYard
The music college that my wife and I teach at has moved completely over to remote learning. And many businesses are sending their employees home to work remotely. In a series of live shows, I'm covering tips and techniques on how you can work effectively from home, or stream events or church services remotely.Zoom is an amazing video conferencing tool which allows up to 100 participants in the free and pro versions. You can share your screen too and present slides. The CEO of Zoom has recently removed their 40 minute limit on free plans for schools, colleges and universities affected by the virus. See here - https://zoom.us/docs/ent/school-verification.htmlStreamYard is an amazing live video tool (and sponsor of this website). You can use it for virtual meetings too and can stream to multiple platforms at the same time.In this episode, I'll share how to use each tool as well as share other tools, and tips to stay productive and sane when working from home.Show notes: iag.me/45Please Subscribe!Don’t miss an episode! Ep 43Bootstrapping Your Live Video Studio: Cameras
You don’t need expensive tech to go live. You just need two things - a device (either a smartphone or a computer) and decent internet. But over time, you can slowly build up your live video studio - adding better microphones, cameras and lighting. Unless you have tens of thousands of dollars to invest right at the start, I am a big believer in bootstrapping your live video studio over time. Now that Social Media Marketing World 2020 is over, it’s time for another upgrade. I’ve been using my Logitech C920 cameras for years. I had to send my Logitech Brio back as it wasn’t working well. So now, I’ve ordered a Canon EOS M50 with an extra lens. In today’s show, we’re talking about cameras!Show notes: iag.me/43Please Subscribe!Don’t miss an episode! I spoke all over the world and did loads of appearances. This year is my year of business and personal growth. That’s meant rebuilding a lot of stuff - being consistent and taking a proper look at myselfFor a solo entrepreneur - it’s important to have a whole approach and a holistic approach. I want to grow as an entrepreneur, a father, husband and friend. I want to improve health-wise, gain more clarity, grow in my faith and become more wiseI’m looking at my health. 18 months ago I got a personal trainer. Over 3 years ago I cut out sugar. But as a veggie I want to check my B12, Iron etc. I had a session with a life coach on Friday which was amazing. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while - but it has to be the right fit. Looking at the holistic approach. Want to procrastinate less✅I've been re-working the different ways people can work with mePower hourCoaching programmsLive video CoursesMastermindsAcademy✅The pros and cons of offering "power hours"They’re a quick way of picking your brain and being paid for it. Do you offer power hours?I do. I love them. I love helping people. Although it’s not my main focus.I’ve been working on my services page to make it clearer - iag.me/servicesKen Needy says I've switched to a slightly more leveraged model where when someone buys a product from us they get access to our monthly Hotline calls where they can ask questions about anything email marketing related. That way I can help more people, and also keep that time cornered.Jaz Greer mentioned the Know Like and TrustCarrier Reah said I do offer consult sessions, yes. And I have also purchased them. Thus far, the purchased time for a consult was long after not being able to find the answer myself. Sometimes it was worth it...about 50/50. I would do a consult/coaching session again with the right person.Molly Mahoney said - I used to! But time became too much of a commodity, and i know that the deepest results come from a longer program.✅Tool alert! I had the pleasure of meeting Christine Tremoulet in 2019 at Social Media Marketing World. We were actually on a whale watching trip together organised by the team at SmarterQueue.Christine is a photographer, story strategist & confidence catalyst and is based in Texas. One of the reasons I hear from some people that stop them from going live - is that they just don't like the way they look. A lot of people don't like the way they sound either. But that doesn't have to be the case. Ep 35Top Social Media Management Tools for Your Business
This is the second show of 2020. And I wanted to be honest.I love what I do, but sometimes it's so easy to feel like you want to give up.I've not got into that rhythm yet. That schedule.I've not reminded myself of why I am doing this. But that is slowly changing as I am putting together my goals. This year is my year of growth - business and personal. But first of all it needs to be about becoming more stable and building the foundations. I talked a lot about this in episode 33.But it's also about encouragement. Most of us aren't great at encouragement. Most of us don't listen. I encourage you to reach out to someone you know in business or in your personal life and give them a word of encouragement.Today's Episode: Social Media Management ToolsToday, I am talking about the top Social Media Management Tools. This comes from my mega-article, The 7 Must-Have Social Media Management Tools for 2020.Why talk about this? I am all about using live video to level up your impact and authority. With live video you are broadcasting to social media channels. And it's where you'll engage with your audience.A social media management tool helps you become more efficient in managing your social media empire. But what is one?A social media management tool aims to do it all.In Lord of the Rings speak, it's the "One Tool to Rule Them All".Tools like Buffer Publish and Social Champ are great at scheduling contentBrand24 and Talkwalker are great listening and analysis toolsBut none of these is a true social media management tool.An SMMT does everything…Publishing: posting/scheduling your social media postsCalendar: Display all your posts (past and present) for all your networks in a calendar (and/or list) view.Social Inbox: interacting with your social messagesListening & Monitoring: Keep up to date with what people are saying about your brand and competitors. Track keywords and phrases as well as hashtags across all the social networks.Audience & Community Management: View insights into your audience. See who are the influencers and the most engaged. Have the ability to follow and unfollow, and add your own notes. Kind of like a simple social CRM (customer relationship management tool)Team Features: Have the ability for individual team members to log in with their own logins and have a team approval system.Analytics & Reports: Measure your social media success with reports across all your social networks. With the ability to compare with your competitors.Show notes: iag.me/35Please Subscribe!Don’t miss an episode!
