Show Notes
In the second episode of our second 10-part special season on U.S. Presidents, we look at Zachary Taylor, the 12th president of the United States. He was a career soldier thrust into the White House with no political experience. A hero of the Mexican-American War, Taylor was seen as a unifying figure in a nation edging toward division. But his brief presidency, lasting just 16 months, left more questions than answers. In this episode, we examine the life of "Old Rough and Ready," his unexpected rise to power, and the legacy he left behind after an untimely death in office.
