Ep 102Why Most Marriages Fail (And How We Made It To 20 Years Without Quitting)

Caroline and her husband John celebrate their 20-year anniversary on “Coming In Hot” by walking through a psychologist’s six stages of marriage and sharing what they’ve lived through so far, focusing on the honeymoon, realization, and rebellion stages. They openly discuss early red flags they ignored, especially around money, family dynamics, expectations, and communication, plus moments when the “rose-colored glasses” came off, including John getting fired and how he handled it. They talk about power struggles after kids, feeling controlled or resentful, and how having purpose, boundaries, lists, and honest conversations helped them rebuild connection. They share practical ways they stayed close—weekly date nights, travel, trying new things, and showing affection—while emphasizing respect, trust, patience, and not trying to change each other, ending with a playful lightning round and advice for making marriage last.🎵Music Credit Nikka Costa – “It’s Just Love” Follow Caroline:IG: https://www.instagram.com/shop.with.caroline/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@shop.with.carolineFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/beingcarolineSearch Looks: https://www.shop-with-caroline.com/Shop Merch: https://shop.dearmedia.com/collections/coming-in-hotPlease note that this episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services. Ep 100Unraveling Menopause: The Untold Truths with Dr. Mary Claire Haver

In this episode, Caroline chats with board-certified OB-GYN and bestselling author Dr. Mary Claire Haver about why menopause and perimenopause are often misunderstood and under-taught in medicine, and why “just getting older” is not an acceptable diagnosis. Dr. Haver shares how she shifted from university medicine into opening a menopause clinic after COVID, and explains that menopause is a whole-body event with estrogen receptors throughout the body, affecting sleep, mood, brain fog, palpitations, vertigo, skin, and more. She breaks down the stages of perimenopause and menopause, describing hormone “chaos” as eggs decline, and stresses prioritizing sleep, resistance training, protein, fiber, and reducing processed foods and sugar to fight inflammation and prevent frailty. They discuss careful, monitored use of GLP-1s, skepticism about unregulated peptides/NAD, Dr. Haver’s own hormone regimen, and where to find menopause care. If you or someone you know is in the age of menopause, pre, during and post, this episode is for you!🎵Music Credit Nikka Costa – “It’s Just Love” Find Dr. Mary Claire Havermaryclairewellness.comIG: instagram.com/drmaryclaireTikTok: tiktok.com/@drmaryclaireThe 'Pause Life: thepauselife.comFollow Caroline:Podcast: https://being-caroline.com/podcast/IG: https://www.instagram.com/shop.with.caroline/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@shop.with.carolineFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/beingcarolineSearch Looks: https://www.shop-with-caroline.com/Shop Merch: https://shop.dearmedia.com/collections/coming-in-hotPlease note that this episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services. Ep 98Are You Subconsciously a Drama Addict? Trauma-Bonding Truths Revealed

Ever wonder why some people thrive on drama? In this episode, Caroline welcomes licensed Clinical Psychologist Dr. Scott Lyons, author of “Addicted to Drama” and host of “The Gently Used Human,” to talk about toxic mom groups, gossip, and why drama can feel addictive. Using examples like “drama bonding” in groups, he explains how stress can become a habit that brings connection and even chemical pain relief, and why calm can feel unsafe for some people. They discuss how hormones (including menopause) can increase dysregulation, how partners can respond without adding “logs to the fire,” and why social media fuels attention-hungry conflict and competitive victimhood. Dr. Lyons shares practical regulation tools like walking, shaking, reading at night instead of scrolling, pausing before replying, and “unsetting the table” to stop mental spirals, and he shares where to find his work, including Embody Lab and his upcoming “Hot Seat Therapy” show.🎵Music Credit Nikka Costa – “It’s Just Love” Find Dr Scott Lyons: - Website: drscottlyons.com- Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/drscottlyons - Platform: theembodylab.comFollow Caroline:- Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/shop.with.caroline/- TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@shop.with.caroline- Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/beingcaroline- Search Looks: https://www.shop-with-caroline.com/- Shop New Merch: https://shop.dearmedia.com/collections/coming-in-hotPlease note that this episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services. Ep 97Peptides and other Non-Surgical Habits You Need to Start Today to Live to 120 with Dr Terry Dubrow

In this episode, Caroline hosts renowned plastic surgeon and star of Botched, Dr. Terry Dubrow, for a “hard questions” episode and some laughs. He educates us on Ozempic/GLP-1 drugs, microdosing, and newer peptide options like tirzepatide and the not-yet–FDA-approved “retatrutide,” which he says may help lower inflammation and support “preservation longevity” while AI accelerates disease breakthroughs. They discuss fears around AI, his belief that people should learn to use it, and his warning about unregulated online/black-market compounds. In beauty, Dubrow urges women to dial back fillers, avoid “Ozempic face panic,” be cautious with deep plane facelifts, and invest more in consistent energy devices (lasers/ultrasound/radiofrequency) rather than extreme procedures. He shares lessons from Botched and Plastic Surgery Rewind, including turning down risky patients, a memorable case removing “concrete” facial injections by reducing—not fully removing—masses, and how he and his wife test wellness trends on their “Doctor and Mrs. Guinea Pig” channel. He also covers peptides uncertainty, cycling use if someone insists, creatine findings, daily visualization, and marriage rules for handling conflict.Find Dr Dubrow - Website: www.drdubrow.com- Instagram: @drdubrow- TikTok: @drterrydubrow- Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind on E! and PeacockFollow Caroline:- Podcast: https://being-caroline.com/podcast/- IG: https://www.instagram.com/shop.with.caroline/- TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@shop.with.caroline- Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/beingcaroline- Search Looks: https://www.shop-with-caroline.com/- Shop New Merch: https://shop.dearmedia.com/collections/coming-in-hotPlease note that this episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services. Ep 96When Being Supermom Isn't Worth the Sacrifice: Quitting the PTA

In this episode, Caroline shares why she thinks the PTA can be exhausting and why she finally quit. She explains how her immigrant parents (Cuban and Venezuelan) didn’t understand the American school system and rarely showed up to her school events, which hurt her as a kid. As a mom now, she became extremely overprotective and tried to do everything her parents didn’t do, including volunteering nonstop. She describes how she got pressured into school volunteer roles—art docent (even though she couldn’t draw), then room parent, then joining the board and leading the school’s biggest fundraiser gala. The situation escalated when she was called into a meeting because of an Instagram story where she expressed frustration about how a school issue was handled (without naming the school or teachers). She pushed back hard, questioned why staff were watching and sharing her content, and decided to leave the PTA and eventually the school. She reflects that the PTA politics, gossip, and pressure made her crankier and less happy, and that quitting made her a better mom and wife because her time with her kids became higher quality. She encourages listeners do what they love and stop dimming their light to fit in, and prioritize their own happiness while still being a good mom.Find Caroline: IG: https://www.instagram.com/shop.with.caroline/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@shop.with.carolineFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/beingcarolineSearch Looks: https://www.shop-with-caroline.com/Shop Merch: https://shop.dearmedia.com/collections/coming-in-hotMusic Credit: Nikka Costa – “It’s Just Love”Please note that this episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services.
