Journalist (and also podcaster) Mason Lane sets out to solve perhaps the biggest mystery in the history law enforcement. There’s a confession (“I shot the sheriff’), an outright denial (“But I did not shoot the deputy”) some seeds, and a bucket with the bottom fallen out of it. Is the bucket important? Yes. Are the seeds important? Also yes, although maybe not as important as the bucket. He visits the scene of the crime to speak to surviving officers, witnesses, and those who accused the accused of gunning down Sheriff John Brown in what may or may not have been a classic case of a crime of self-defence.
