The Zushi Stalker _ The Disturbing Case of Hideto Kodutsumi

In this chilling true crime episode, we examine the Zushi Stalker case — a tragic and disturbing story from Zushi City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan involving Hideto Kodutsumi (often romanized Kozutsumi), a man whose obsession with his ex-girlfriend turned deadly. Kodutsumi had repeatedly harassed and stalked Rie Miyoshi for years, using emails and unwanted contact in the hope of re-establishing a relationship. Despite her attempts to move on — including marriage and relocating — his fixation persisted.

The situation took a horrific turn when police procedures inadvertently exposed Rie’s personal details, which Kodutsumi later used to locate her. After continuous harassment and stalking, he tracked her down at her home in Zushi, stabbed her to death, and then took his own life.
