Investigators painstakingly collected hours of CCTV from around Hull — capturing the movements of both Libby and Pawel Relowicz, a 26-year-old man with a history of sexual offences. Footage showed him “effectively stalking” Libby before she entered his car and they drove off toward a secluded playing field.

This evidence helped police trace nearly every moment before her disappearance and was crucial in linking Relowicz to the crime. Libby’s body was later found in the Humber Estuary, and Relowicz was convicted of her rape and murder, receiving a life sentence with a minimum tariff of 27 years.
