The idea with these talks is to take this time of crisis and being at home without being able to work and share thoughts and ideas about our passion (swimming). One of my coaches was “Doc” Counsilman when I was a student-athlete at Indian University and he always told me that “COACHING IS SHARING”. So now more than ever we can do this. Find some of the topics that some coaches proposed to talk after our first coaches talk: (Svetlana) How to manage athletes and raising your children during this time being in quarantine (4 years old and 8 months). (D. Porter) team culture; establishing behaviors in age group swimming to promote excellence at the Jr./National level (D. Porter) Groups within a Group; using your assistants wisely (D. #CoachingIsSharing (April 1st, 2020 - 6:00 p.m. Madrid Time) Esta es la primera charla en podcast ya que la primera que hicimos (27 de Marzo, 2020) no la grabe. Lo siento. En esta segunda charla ( 1 de Abril, 2020) tuvimos 171 entrenadores de habla Hispana. Uno de mis entrenadores el famoso "Doc" Counsilman cuando yo estaba nadando para él en la Universidad de Indiana siempre me decía: Sergio "COACHING IS SHARING" (Entrenar Es Compartir) y para mi siempre ha sido una parte importante de mi persona como entrenador. En estos momentos de crisis que estamos obligados estar en casa ahora más que nunca podemos ayudarnos unos a otros a mejorar como entrenadores y más importante como personas. Para mi la primera charla fue muy positiva y espero que sigamos creciendo juntos y compartiendo mas y mas cada dia. Muchas gracias a todos por querer pasar este rato juntos y tener una gran tertulia. Aquí hay algunos de los temas que me han propuesto después de la primera charla. Como hice durante la primera charla empezaré hablando de unos de los temas y seguimos orgánicamente evolucionando con lo que la gente quiera compartir y tambien preguntar. Yo siempre he creído que hay más de mil caminos para llegar al mismo sitio y lo importante durante estas charlas es el participar no importa la experiencia que tengas y sin miedo. En mi honesta opinión no hay una manera mejor o peor de hacer las cosas sino muchas maneras diferentes. También es muy importante el respetar la opinión de cada uno y de seguir evolucionando con estas tertulias así podemos seguir creciendo internamente. Al fin y al cabo el objetivo como entrenador es siempre el poder ayudar a tus deportistas a ser la mejor persona posible y a desarrollar el talento del deportista al mayor nivel posible. Propuestas de trabajo condicional con jovenes (O no, mejor preguntarse que es el trabajo condicional en jovenes) Charla sobre como orientar la competición, cuando hay mucha presión en el entorno. (Familia y amigos [Ayer ya se comentó alguna cosa]) Identificar posibles errores en planificaciones a largo plazo. La importancia de los pies. (Ayer Borja ya dejó caer alguna cosa) Charla sobre la preparación fisica -> Según Especialidad (FONDO-MEDIO FONDO-VELODIDAD) ¿Debe ser la misma? Charla sobre la puesta a punto (Identificar a través de los ponentes diferentes tipos de puesta a punto) [ ROMPER, la leyenda de que todo sirve para todos] y cada tapper es individual.

I will start the meeting talking about several things and then I will ask for topics to discuss. It is important to probably start with simple and important things. Last week we spoke about why we coach, experiences as coaches and different ways to help us keep the swimmers connected and in shape during this time. Coaches from all over the world including Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia connected and emailed me back with great reviews. After this first initial one you can email me and let me know what topics should be talk and get more in depth to share with everyone.
