President Trump calls the House impeachment inquiry a lynching, and the timing is no coincidence: A critical witness is on Capitol Hill -- a veteran diplomat who complained it was "crazy" to withhold aid to Ukraine until it agreed to pursue the President's political vendettas.
Plus, an important first in new CNN polling: Support for impeaching and removing the President from office hits 50 percent. But there are clear partisan divides: Only 6% of Republicans back impeachment.
And the backlash is instant: African American lawmakers say the President's use of the term "lynching" is deeply offensive, yet not surprising given the source.
Today's Panel: Julie Hirschfeld Davis with The New York Times, Toluse Olorunnipa with The Washington Post, Olivier Knox With SiriusXM, and Catherine Lucey with The Wall Street Journal
Also on the Program: CNN's Manu Raju and Kylie Atwood
