Israel has officially declared war on Hamas, as hundreds of people are killed on both sides of the conflict. This comes as tensions have been building in the region for months. The US is promising to help Israel, but with no House Speaker elected that could be easier said than done. Elsewhere, aid workers are scrambling to help people in Afghanistan after an earthquake killed thousands of people. And, Simone Biles is once again the most decorated gymnast in history.
