Cotwright, an associate professor in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Georgia, was recently named the director of nutrition security and health equity for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Cotwright talks with Rose about her new role and how the U.S. is addressing health equity, obesity and improving access to healthy food.
Plus, Dr. J. Marshall Shepherd, a leading international expert in weather and climate from the University of Georgia, discusses weather models that show Atlanta could experience its hottest temperatures in three decades this summer. Shepherd also talks about how people of color are disproportionately affected by climate change, summer heat and storms.
