Show Notes

Several reports suggest the pandemic has created economic uncertainty. But now, more than one year since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccines to fight the deadly virus are available—and the sight of herd immunity seems possible. Caroline Fohlin, an Emory University economics professor and author, joins “Closer Look” for Feedback Friday. Fohlin, who recently co-authored the article “Do Global Pandemics Matter for Stock Prices? Lessons from the 1918 Spanish Flu,” talks with show host Rose Scott about the pandemic’s influence on Georgia’s economy. Rose also takes live calls from show listeners who discuss their spending habits amid the health crisis.
