Show Notes

On December 6, 1989, the Cleveland Indians traded Joe Carter for Sandy Alomar Jr., Carlos Baerga, and Chris James, setting the stage for their mid-90s success. Alomar, a rookie in 1990, earned All-Star honors, Rookie of the Year, and a Gold Glove, helping the Indians finish 4th in the AL East. Despite injuries, Alomar continued to excel, becoming a leader and key player in the teams five division titles and two pennants in the 90s. He retired in 2007, coached with the Mets and Indians, and is now in his 28th year with the franchise, second only to Mel Harder in tenure.
