Ep 86Beowulf by Francis Barton Gummere ~ Full Audiobook [folklore]

Beowulf by Francis Barton Gummere audiobook. Genre: folklore In Francis Barton Gummere's classic English rendering of Beowulf, an ancient world of mead-halls, sea-roads, and oath-bound warriors comes vividly to life. The Danes are beset by a night-stalking monster, and their great hall, Heorot, has become a place of dread. Across the whale-road comes Beowulf, a young Geatish champion driven by duty, fame, and loyalty to his lord. With a small band of men and an iron resolve, he offers his strength to King Hrothgar and prepares to face a terror that ordinary weapons cannot easily master. But victory in this harsh landscape is never simple: pride, fate, and the old codes of honor press on every choice, and darker forces wait beyond the first battle. As songs of past deeds echo through torchlit feasts, Beowulf must prove what kind of hero he will be, and what the cost of glory may be for himself and for the people who depend on him. Ep 85A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett ~ Full Audiobook [family]

A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett audiobook. Genre: family Sara Crewe arrives in London from India to attend Miss Minchin's Select Seminary for Young Ladies, and she quickly becomes the school’s most unusual pupil. Bright, imaginative, and unfailingly courteous, Sara is treated like royalty because her father can afford every comfort. But when sudden tragedy shatters that security, Sara is forced from privileged student to servant, enduring cold attics, hard work, and relentless humiliation. Even so, she clings to the one thing no one can confiscate: her inner life. By telling stories, practicing kindness, and insisting on seeing herself as a 'princess' in spirit, Sara becomes a quiet source of courage for the other girls, especially the timid Ermengarde and the scullery maid Becky. As winter deepens and Miss Minchin’s cruelty escalates, a mysterious new neighbor and a series of small, uncanny changes hint that Sara’s circumstances may not be as hopeless as they seem. A Little Princess is a classic tale of resilience, generosity, and the power of imagination to transform hardship without denying it. How to Analyze People on Sight Through the Science of Human Analysis - The Five Human Types by Elsie Lincoln Benedict and Ralph Paine Benedict audiobook. Genre: self help In this popular American book from the 1920s, accomplished public speaker and self-help charlatan Elsie Lincoln Benedict outlines her pseudo-scientific system of 'Human Analysis'. She proposes that, within the human race, five sub-types have developed through evolutionary processes, each with its own distinct character traits and corresponding outward appearance. She offers to teach the reader how to recognise these five types of people and understand their innate differences. Her ideas have never been taken seriously by the scientific community, but this book is considered a classic within its genre and remains in print today. Ep 82The Kybalion by The Three Initiates ~ Full Audiobook [philosophy]

The Kybalion by The Three Initiates audiobook. Genre: philosophy First published in 1908 under the enigmatic byline 'The Three Initiates,' The Kybalion is a concise introduction to Hermetic philosophy, presenting a set of foundational ideas said to be distilled from the teachings of Hermes Trismegistus. Written in a clear, aphoristic style, the book guides listeners through seven core principles meant to explain how mind, matter, and experience relate: Mentalism, Correspondence, Vibration, Polarity, Rhythm, Cause and Effect, and Gender. Rather than offering a story-driven narrative, it builds a practical framework for examining perception, personal change, and the patterns that seem to govern nature and human life. As the chapters unfold, the authors challenge the listener to test these principles in everyday situations: emotional swings, conflicting viewpoints, chance events, and the push and pull of habits and desires. Whether approached as esoteric teaching, self-mastery manual, or philosophical lens, The Kybalion invites a deeper look at how inner states shape outer outcomes, and how disciplined attention can alter the way you interpret and respond to the world around you. Ep 78The Gods of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs ~ Full Audiobook [scifi]

The Gods of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs audiobook. Genre: scifi The Gods of Mars is a 1918 Edgar Rice Burroughs science fiction novel, the second of his famous Barsoom series. It can be said that the novel set the tone for much science fiction to come. Its influence can clearly be seen in franchises such as Star Trek and Farscape. While Burroughs no doubt borrowed liberally from the pulp fiction of his day, particularly westerns and swashbuckling tales, the pacing and themes set the tone for the soft science fiction genre. The protagonist, John Carter, with his proficiency in hand-to-hand combat and flirtations with beautiful alien women, could be said to have set the mold for later influential icons like Captain James T. Kirk and James Bond. At the end of the first book, A Princess of Mars, John Carter is unwillingly transported back to Earth. The Gods of Mars begins with his arrival back on Barsoom (Mars) after a ten year hiatus, separated from his wife Dejah Thoris, his unborn child, and the Red Martian people of the nation of Helium, whom he has adopted as his own. Unfortunately, John Carter materializes in the one place on Barsoom from which nobody is allowed to depart: the Valley Dor, which is the Barsoomian heaven. Ep 76Two Poe Tales by Edgar Allan Poe ~ Full Audiobook [comedy]

Two Poe Tales by Edgar Allan Poe audiobook. Genre: comedy Two Poe Tales gathers two of Edgar Allan Poe's sharpest, funniest send-ups of the very Gothic sensationalism he helped popularize: How to Write a Blackwood Article and its companion tale, A Predicament. In the first story, the ambitious and delightfully self-important Signora Psyche Zenobia sets out to become a literary sensation by following the strict, absurd recipe for publishing in Blackwood's Magazine, where suffering, heightened emotion, and lurid detail are treated like ingredients in a foolproof formula. Armed with advice on how to manufacture dread and astonishment on cue, Zenobia launches into her own attempt at fashionable terror. The second tale puts that formula to the test in the real world, as Zenobia and her long-suffering servant find themselves drawn into an escalating misadventure that is equal parts melodrama and farce. With playful narration, exaggerated horror tropes, and sly commentary on taste, authorship, and literary gatekeeping, these two pieces reveal Poe not only as a master of the macabre, but also as a gleeful satirist who knew exactly how (and why) readers loved to be frightened. The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri audiobook. Genre: poetry The Divine Comedy (Italian: Commedia, later christened 'Divina' by Giovanni Boccaccio), written by Dante Alighieri between 1308 and his death in 1321, is widely considered the central epic poem of Italian literature, the last great work of literature of the Middle Ages and the first great work of the Renaissance. A culmination of the medieval world-view of the afterlife, it establishes the Tuscan dialect in which it is written as the Italian standard, and is seen as one of the greatest works of world literature. - The Divine Comedy is composed of three canticas (or 'cantiche') — Inferno (Hell), Purgatorio (Purgatory), and Paradiso (Paradise) — composed each of 33 cantos (or 'canti'). The very first canto serves as an introduction to the poem and is generally not considered to be part of the first cantica, bringing the total number of cantos to 100. - The poet tells in the first person his travel through the three realms of the dead, lasting during the Easter Triduum in the spring of 1300 For ad-free listening try our premium subscription Chapters (Approximate) (00:00:00) Chapter 1 (00:43:17) Chapter 2 (01:20:03) Chapter 3 (02:07:07) Chapter 4 (02:37:48) Chapter 5 (03:13:17) Chapter 6 (03:50:06) Chapter 7 (04:26:24) Chapter 8 (05:09:03) Chapter 9 (05:46:28) Chapter 10 (06:19:48) Chapter 11 (06:55:25) Chapter 12 (07:42:39) Chapter 13 (08:26:11) Chapter 14 (09:07:25) Chapter 15 (09:46:04) Chapter 16 (10:18:24) Chapter 17 (10:58:20) Chapter 18 (11:40:37) Chapter 19 Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 72The Way of Peace by James Allen ~ Full Audiobook [self help]

The Way of Peace by James Allen audiobook. Genre: self help In The Way of Peace, James Allen offers a calm, direct guide to finding steadiness in a restless world by working from the inside out. Rather than promising quick fixes, Allen argues that lasting peace is built through self-control, disciplined thought, and a sincere commitment to live by clear moral principles. Through a series of brief, focused reflections, he invites the listener to examine how anger, worry, and self-centered desires disturb the mind, and how patience, kindness, and humility can restore balance. Allen frames daily life as a training ground: every reaction, every choice of words, and every private thought becomes an opportunity to practice composure and strengthen character. Along the way, he presents meditation and quiet reflection as practical tools for clarity, encouraging a life shaped by purpose instead of impulse. Written in a simple, earnest style, this book speaks to anyone seeking resilience under pressure, healthier relationships, and a deeper sense of inner order. The central conflict is not against external enemies, but against the habits of mind that steal peace - and the hard, hopeful work of replacing them with wisdom. Allen regularly communicates this by providing examples on how the laws which govern the inner-world (of thought) operate in a manner similar to the laws of nature. Free from speculative philosophies, ideals, and dogma; it provides highly practical guidance on how to bring about lasting changes in any area of one’s life. Part two (titled ‘The Way of Peace’) dives deeper into the concept of self-perfection and was later published as a separate book. Excerpt from forward: “And I dreamed of writing a book which should help men and women, whether rich or poor, learned or unlearned, worldly or unworldly, to find within themselves the source of all success, all happiness, all accomplishment, all truth.” For ad-free listening try our premium subscription Chapters (Approximate) (00:00:00) Chapter 1 (00:12:05) Chapter 2 (00:24:11) Chapter 3 (00:51:20) Chapter 4 (01:09:56) Chapter 5 (01:34:35) Chapter 6 (01:48:39) Chapter 7 Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 70The Mastery of Destiny by James Allen ~ Full Audiobook [self help]

The Mastery of Destiny by James Allen audiobook. Genre: self help In The Mastery of Destiny, James Allen presents a concise, practical guide to taking responsibility for your life by understanding the inner causes behind outward circumstances. Writing in his clear, uplifting style, Allen argues that destiny is not a fixed decree but a pattern shaped by character, habits, and the steady direction of thought. From health and prosperity to relationships and work, he invites listeners to examine how daily choices - especially the quiet, repeated choices made in private - accumulate into the conditions we later call fate. Across a series of focused reflections, Allen explores self-discipline, moral strength, patience, and the power of purpose, showing how setbacks can become training grounds for wisdom rather than reasons for resignation. The central conflict is not against other people or chance, but against confusion, impulsiveness, and the temptation to blame the world for what can be changed within. Grounded in the New Thought tradition yet written for anyone seeking clarity, this audiobook offers a steady voice for those who want to replace wishful thinking with inner mastery and to build a life guided by intention, integrity, and calm perseverance. Ep 69Man: King of Mind, Body, and Circumstance by James Allen ~ Full Audiobook [self help]

Man: King of Mind, Body, and Circumstance by James Allen audiobook. Genre: self help The problem of life consists in learning how to live. It is like the problem of addition or subtraction to the schoolboy. When mastered, all difficulty disappears, and the problem has vanished. All the problems of life, whether they be social, political, or religious, subsist in ignorance and wrong-living. As they are solved in the heart of each individual, they will be solved in the mass of men. Humanity at present is in the painful stage of “learning.” It is confronted with the difficulties of its own ignorance. As men learn to live rightly, learn to direct their forces and use their functions and faculties by the light of wisdom, the sum of life will be correctly done, and its mastery will put an end to all the “problems of evil.” To the wise, all such problems have ceased. Ep 68Light on Life’s Difficulties by James Allen ~ Full Audiobook [self help]

Light on Life’s Difficulties by James Allen audiobook. Genre: self help When a man enters a dark room he is not sure of his movements, he cannot see objects around him, or properly locate them, and is liable to hurt himself by coming into sudden contact with them. But let a light be introduced, and immediately all confusion disappears. Every object is seen, and there is no danger of being hurt. To the majority, life is such a dark room, and their frequent hurts—their disappointments, perplexities, sorrows and pains—are caused by sudden contact with principles which they do not see, and are therefore not prepared to deal with. But when the light of wisdom is introduced into the darkened understanding, confusion vanishes, difficulties are dissolved, all things are seen in their true place and proportion, and henceforth the man walks open-eyed and unhurt, in the clear light of wise comprehension. Ep 67From Passion to Peace by James Allen ~ Full Audiobook [self help]

From Passion to Peace by James Allen audiobook. Genre: self help The first three parts of this book, Passion, Aspiration, and Temptation, represent the common human life, with its passion, pathos, and tragedy. The last three parts, Transcendence, Beatitude, and Peace, represents the Divine Life—calm, wise and beautiful—of the sage and Savior. The middle part, Transmutation, is the transitional stage between the two; it is the alchemic process linking the divine with the human life. Discipline, denial, and renunciation do not constitute the Divine State; they are only the means by which it is attained. Ep 66Foundation Stones to Happiness and Success by James Allen ~ Full Audiobook [self help]

Foundation Stones to Happiness and Success by James Allen audiobook. Genre: self help In Foundation Stones to Happiness and Success, James Allen, a pioneering voice of early self-help and New Thought, invites listeners to stop chasing quick fixes and instead begin where all lasting change starts: with the inner plan. Using the simple image of building a house, Allen argues that a secure life must be constructed from the ground up, with clear purpose, order, and daily discipline rather than confusion or half-measures. Written in his characteristically calm, direct style and presented as one of his final practical messages, the book guides you through the mindset and moral foundations that support both outward achievement and inward peace. Allen focuses on the quiet, repeatable choices that shape character: how you respond to difficulty, how you govern impulse, how you maintain a steady aim, and how thought becomes action and ultimately habit. Along the way, he frames happiness and success not as luck or status, but as the natural outcome of living by principle. Compact yet reflective, this audiobook is designed to be returned to again and again as a blueprint for building a more purposeful life. Ep 65Eight Pillars of Prosperity by James Allen ~ Full Audiobook [self help]

Eight Pillars of Prosperity by James Allen audiobook. Genre: self help It is popularly supposed that a greater prosperity for individuals or nations can only come through a political and social reconstruction. This cannot be true apart from the practice of the moral virtues in the individuals that comprise a nation. Better laws and social conditions will always follow a higher realization of morality among the individuals of a community, but no legal enactment can give prosperity to, nay it cannot prevent the ruin of, a man or a nation that has become lax and decadent in the pursuit and practice of virtue. The moral virtues are the foundation and support of prosperity as they are the soul of greatness. They endure for ever, and all the works of man which endure are built upon them. Without them there is neither strength, stability, nor substantial reality, but only ephemeral dreams. To find moral principles is to have found prosperity, greatness, truth, and is therefore to be strong, valiant, joyful and free. Ep 64As A Man Thinketh by James Allen ~ Full Audiobook [self help]

As A Man Thinketh by James Allen audiobook. Genre: self help As A Man Thinketh is James Allen's concise, reflective classic on the power of thought to shape character, circumstance, and destiny. Written in a calm, sermon-like voice, the book follows a simple but challenging premise: the mind is not a passive observer of life, but an active maker of it. Through short, focused chapters, Allen invites the listener to examine how habitual thinking patterns quietly become actions, how actions harden into character, and how character influences everything from health to relationships to work. Rather than offering quick fixes, he frames self-mastery as a daily practice - cultivating discipline, clarity, and purpose while uprooting resentment, fear, and aimlessness. As the argument builds, Allen contrasts the inner life of a person who drifts on impulse with the steadier life of someone who chooses principles and aims deliberately, showing how inner order can lead to outward stability and achievement. Part moral philosophy, part practical encouragement, As A Man Thinketh challenges you to take responsibility for your inner world and to test, refine, and elevate your thoughts until they align with the life you intend to live. Ep 63The Game of Life and How to Play It by Florence Scovel Shinn ~ Full Audiobook [self help]

The Game of Life and How to Play It by Florence Scovel Shinn audiobook. Genre: self help First published in 1925, Florence Scovel Shinn's The Game of Life and How to Play It is a compact, energetic guide to living with faith, intention, and spiritual poise. Drawing on biblical language, everyday anecdotes, and a principle-driven view of cause and effect, Shinn argues that life operates by learnable rules - and that words, beliefs, and expectations act like moves in a game, shaping what we experience. Through short chapters and vivid examples, she explores how fear and resentment can block progress, while forgiveness, gratitude, and unwavering trust can open paths to health, prosperity, and right relationships. At the center is a practical spiritual discipline: choose your aim, speak with conviction, and align your inner attitude with the good you seek, even when circumstances look discouraging. Warm, direct, and highly quotable, this book invites listeners to test its ideas in daily life and to practice a mindset where obstacles become assignments, and success means learning to cooperate with a higher law. Ep 62The Adventures of Pinocchio by C. Collodi ~ Full Audiobook [folklore]

The Adventures of Pinocchio by C. Collodi audiobook. Genre: folklore In a humble Italian workshop, the lonely woodcarver Geppetto carves a marionette from a lively piece of wood and names him Pinocchio. To Geppetto's astonishment, the puppet can talk, laugh, sulk, and bolt out the door the moment he gets the chance. Pinocchio wants the privileges of a real boy, but he has no patience for the responsibility that comes with them, and his hunger for quick fun makes him easy prey for smooth-talking tricksters and too-good-to-be-true promises. Sent toward school and a better life, he instead tumbles into a chain of misadventures that test his honesty, courage, and ability to care about anyone beyond himself. Along the way he encounters a stern but watchful conscience, deceptive companions, harsh lessons about work and poverty, and moments of genuine kindness that he almost squanders. As Geppetto searches and sacrifices for his wayward creation, Pinocchio must face the consequences of his choices and decide what kind of person he wants to become. Darkly comic and sharply moral, Collodi's classic explores temptation, accountability, and the hard-earned path from selfishness to character. The Amazons - A Farcical Romance by Arthur W Pinero audiobook. Genre: comedy In Arthur Wing Pinero's sparkling stage farce, the tranquil estate of the Marchioness of Castlejordan becomes a social minefield when her three daughters - Noeline (Noel), Wilhelmina (Willis), and Thomasin (Tommie) - reach the age when the outside world expects them to behave like proper young ladies. Their mother, having long insisted on sons, has raised them as her heirs: confident, athletic, and more comfortable with masculine freedoms than with drawing-room manners. Now, with gossip swirling and society calling, the sisters must perform a dizzying double life, switching from bold, boyish habits at home to ladylike decorum in public. Trouble arrives in the form of three determined gentlemen, each intent on courtship, and each more confused than the last by the sisters' unusual upbringing. As secret visits, overheard conversations, disguises, and well-meaning interventions pile up, the Castlejordan household becomes a whirl of misunderstandings, romantic sparks, and comic reversals. Beneath the laughter, Pinero playfully skewers rigid expectations about gender, class, and marriage - and asks whether growing up means choosing who you are, or who society demands you be. Ep 57Black Beauty by Anna Sewell ~ Full Audiobook [family]

Black Beauty by Anna Sewell audiobook. Genre: family Black Beauty is a fictional autobiographical memoir told by a horse, who recounts many tales, both of cruelty and kindness. The title page of the first edition states that it was 'Translated from the Original Equine by Anna Sewell.' It was composed in the last years of her life, during which she was confined to her house as an invalid. After its publication in 1877, Sewell lived just long enough to see her first and only novel become an immediate bestseller, as well as it encouraging the better treatment of many cruelly-treated animals. Although initially intended for people who work with horses, it soon became a children's classic. While outwardly teaching animal welfare, it also contains allegorical lessons about how to treat people with kindness, sympathy and respect. The story is narrated in the first person and each short chapter relates an incident in Black Beauty's life, with Sewell's detailed observations and extensive descriptions of horse behaviour lending the novel a good deal of verisimilitude. Ep 56The Consolation of Philosophy by Anicius Manlius Severinus Boethius ~ Full Audiobook [philosophy]

The Consolation of Philosophy by Anicius Manlius Severinus Boethius audiobook. Genre: philosophy Consolation of Philosophy (Latin: Consolatio Philosophiae) is a philosophical work by Boethius written in about the year 524 AD. It has been described as the single most important and influential work in the West in medieval and early Renaissance Christianity, and is also the last great work that can be called Classical. Consolation of Philosophy was written during Boethius' one year imprisonment while awaiting trial, and eventual horrific execution, for the crime of treason by Ostrogothic King Theodoric the Great. Boethius was at the very heights of power in Rome and was brought down by treachery. It was from this experience he was inspired to write a philosophical book from prison reflecting on how a lord's favor could change so quickly and why friends would turn against him. It has been described as “by far the most interesting example of prison literature the world has ever seen.” The Consolation of Philosophy stands, by its note of fatalism and its affinities with the Christian doctrine of humility, midway between the heathen philosophy of Seneca the Younger and the later Christian philosophy of consolation represented by Thomas Aquinas. The book is heavily influenced by Plato and his dialogues (as was Boethius himself) For ad-free listening try our premium subscription Chapters (Approximate) (00:00:00) Chapter 01 (00:07:22) Chapter 02 (00:12:21) Chapter 03 (00:15:15) Chapter 04 (00:19:24) Chapter 05 (00:35:48) Chapter 06 (00:42:15) Chapter 07 (00:48:09) Chapter 08 (00:49:33) Chapter 09 (00:55:52) Chapter 10 (01:01:08) Chapter 11 (01:06:50) Chapter 12 (01:15:16) Chapter 13 (01:26:52) Chapter 14 (01:33:44) Chapter 15 (01:40:54) Chapter 16 (01:44:35) Chapter 17 (01:47:19) Chapter 18 (01:56:40) Chapter 19 (02:02:02) Chapter 20 (02:06:31) Chapter 21 (02:10:19) Chapter 22 (02:13:35) Chapter 23 (02:16:03) Chapter 24 (02:21:09) Chapter 25 (02:33:18) Chapter 26 (02:47:03) Chapter 27 (02:57:01) Chapter 28 (03:09:40) Chapter 29 (03:15:34) Chapter 30 (03:26:25) Chapter 31 (03:34:56) Chapter 32 (03:49:00) Chapter 33 (03:53:06) Chapter 34 (04:14:11) Chapter 35 (04:19:33) Chapter 36 (04:26:56) Chapter 37 (04:30:09) Chapter 38 (04:41:15) Chapter 39 (04:52:05) Chapter 40 (04:58:26) Chapter 41 Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 54Penguin Island by Anatole France ~ Full Audiobook [comedy]

Penguin Island by Anatole France audiobook. Genre: comedy In Penguin Island, Anatole France delivers a sly, sweeping satire of civilization by imagining a world where a well-meaning, half-blind monk accidentally baptizes a colony of penguins, forcing heaven and earth to decide what, exactly, these newly converted creatures are. Transformed into people and granted a history of their own, the penguins begin building a society complete with laws, property, religion, politics, and all the comforting myths and brutal contradictions that come with them. As generations pass, the island's chronicles trace the rise of institutions and ideologies, the ambitions of leaders and thinkers, and the everyday compromises that turn lofty ideals into convenient slogans. Along the way, France introduces a gallery of clerics, scholars, soldiers, financiers, and reformers who argue over truth and morality while pursuing power, prestige, and survival. Bitingly funny and unexpectedly tender, the novel uses its absurd premise to expose how nations invent their past, justify their injustices, and repeat their follies, even when they believe they are marching toward progress. Ep 51Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare ~ Full Audiobook [comedy]

Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare audiobook. Genre: comedy After a violent shipwreck scatters her family, Viola washes ashore in the strange country of Illyria, grieving and alone - and determined to survive. Disguising herself as a young man named Cesario, she enters the service of Duke Orsino, a nobleman consumed by longing for the aloof Countess Olivia. Orsino sends Cesario to plead his case, but the mission ignites a tangle of mistaken identities and divided loyalties: Olivia unexpectedly falls for Cesario, while Viola quietly falls for Orsino, trapped by the very disguise that keeps her safe. Ep 47A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare ~ Full Audiobook [comedy]

A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare audiobook. Genre: comedy Magic, fairies, young lovers chasing each other through a forest, a man with a donkey's head, and impish Puck wreaking havoc right and left. What's going on here? It's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Shakespeare at his most fanciful. The play opens with Theseus, Duke of Athens, preparing for his wedding. Egeus complains to Theseus that his daughter Hermia refuses to marry Demetrius. When Hermia is given the choice between marriage to Demetrius or life as a nun, she and her true love Lysander flee into the forest. Demetrius follows them; and Helena, who loves Demetrius, follows him. Also in the forest are Oberon and Titania, king and queen of the fairies, at odds with one another. At Oberon's behest, Puck causes Demetrius to fall in love with Helena -- oops, he missed, that was Lysander instead. Mayhem ensues. In the meantime, a group of bumbling craftsmen rehearses a play. Puck gives one of them, Bottom, the head of an ass and makes Titania fall in love with him. Further hilarity results as Bottom sees nothing at all odd about this. Eventually everything is straightened out, Bottom and the rest 'perform' their play, there is a triple wedding, and Puck assures us the whole thing has been a dream. Ep 40As You Like It by William Shakespeare ~ Full Audiobook [comedy]

As You Like It by William Shakespeare audiobook. Genre: comedy In As You Like It, William Shakespeare transports listeners from the rigid politics of court to the liberating wilds of the Forest of Arden, where identities shift and love tests its own logic. When the sharp-witted Rosalind is abruptly banished by her uncle, the usurping Duke Frederick, she flees into exile with her loyal cousin Celia and the quick-tongued fool Touchstone. Genre: philosophy Walter Savage Landor's Imaginary Conversations is a brilliantly inventive collection of dialogues in which the dead speak again - not as museum pieces, but as sharp-minded opponents, allies, and provocateurs. Across a wide range of imagined meetings, Landor brings together rulers, rebels, poets, philosophers, generals, and statesmen from different eras and nations, letting their clashing temperaments and convictions drive the drama. Each conversation becomes a miniature stage where character is revealed through argument: pride and humility, ambition and conscience, faith and skepticism, art and power. Rather than offering a single plot, the book offers a series of intellectual encounters, each shaped by the distinct voices of its speakers and by the moral and political questions they cannot avoid. Landor's prose moves from wit to gravity with ease, balancing historical awareness with bold speculation, and inviting listeners to consider how ideas survive their owners. The result is part literary performance, part philosophical inquiry, and part historical meditation - a work for anyone who enjoys great talk, great minds, and the enduring friction between ideals and reality.
