Just 13% of Clare's social housing stock has been audited in the last four years.
There are currently 3,151 social housing units in this county, and just 436 have been assessed, to ensure they comply with building standards.
In 2021, the Government had promised to complete inspections of all social homes nationwide within a five year timeframe.
According to the latest council figures, meanwhile, Clare's social housing list increased by 24 households in January of this year alone.
Clare Sinn Féin TD Donna McGettigan has been telling Clare FM's Daragh Dolan that the rate of progress is unacceptable.
