A new report from Early Childhood Ireland paints a stark picture of the childcare crisis, with 59% of adults in Munster saying the government is not doing enough to address the shortage of Early Years places.
In Clare alone, up to 1,195 children under the age of three are currently on waiting lists, while services are also struggling with staffing shortages and limited funding.
To discuss what’s behind the numbers—and what it means for families locally—Alan Morrissey was joined on Friday's Morning Focus by Frances Byrne, Director of Policy at Early Childhood Ireland and Cathal Dillon, Shannon Family Resource Centre.
