Clare County Council has reaffirmed its commitment to building a relief road on the outskirts of Ennis. The local authority has confirmed the proposed Ennis Inner Relief Road connecting the Gort Road and the Tulla Road is included in the Local Transport Plan as well as the upcoming proposed variation to the County Development Plan. It follows a motion put forward by Fianna Fáil councillors Clare Colleran-Molloy, Tom O'Callaghan and Antoinette Baker-Bashua at this week's meeting of the county's local elected representatives. Councillor O'Callaghan says the fact that it's in a plan means there's a guarantee it'll be built.
