Council Announced €1.3 Million Investment In "Jewel Of The Crown" Lees Road

A €1.3 million investment is expected to secure an Ennis athletics track as the "jewel in the crown" of Clare County Council when it comes to sporting facilities. The local authority has announced a major upgrade of the track and associated facilities at John O'Sullivan Park on Lees Road in the county town. The redevelopment, which will result in the temporary closure of the amenity, will include the installation of an internationally-recognised, high-performance track system with a 15-year lifespan. Clare County Council Senior Executive Officer for Sport and Recreation, Eoin Troy, says it'll make the park a strong contender in attracting regional competitions.
