Concern have risen after it's emerged that around 15 dogs a month are being abandoned on Clare roads. Clare’s County Dog Warden says that despite efforts to list the animals on social media, no one is coming forward to claim them, and they are subsequently microchipped while attempts are made to rehome them. Under the law, an owner must report their dog missing within five working days before it becomes the property of Clare County Council. County Dog Warden Frankie Coote says that while the numbers are decreasing, it remains a significant issue.
