
Smoke-darkened skies: A stark reminder of the climate crisis
Some two dozen wildfires are burning around the state, and Bay Area residents woke up Wednesday to an eerie artificial smoky twilight. Alastair Gee, an editor at the Guardian and co-author, with Dani Anguiano, of the book “Fire in Paradise: An American Tragedy,” has written about how the climate crisis has arrived without a definitive breaking point and continues to unfold. He offers some perspective on how climate change is driving these ever more destructive fires.
