Show Notes

At 19 years old, Tyree Wallace was sentenced to life in prison for the 1997 killing of a Point Breeze deli owner. Ever since, he argued that he was innocent. Finally in November – with help from lawyer/musician David Perry, who wrote a song declaring Tyree’s innocence – Wallace was released from prison. We spoke to Wallace, who is now CEO of the nonprofit Systemic Reformative Change, and David Perry, from the law firm Blank Rome and the band Athensville, 70 days after Wallace was released.
