Last week, Lithium Americas announced an unprecedented new deal with an unlikely partner: The Trump administration. In exchange for a multibillion federal loan, the Nevada-based lithium mine will give the federal government a 5% stake in both the company and the Thacker Pass mine — which is likely to turn into the country's largest source of lithium. So why is the federal government doing, ya know, socialism … and could it possibly be a good thing for America? Eric Neugeboren, reporter at the Nevada Independent, and Vince Beiser, author of "Power Metal: The Race for the Resources That Will Shape the Future," join co-host Dayvid Figler to discuss.
