New student survey in Southwest Ohio reveals a decline in substance use among seventh to twelfth graders, with alcohol remaining the most used substance. Prevention Firsts 2026 results show a drop in vaping, alcohol, and marijuana use, with students mostly obtaining substances from friends and using them at home, parties, or friends houses. Anxiety, depression, and isolation reports also decreased, linked to less substance use. Prevention First plans to share results to build prevention plans and secure funding, with Clermont County already initiating mental health training.
