Ohios Secretary of State Frank LaRose has confirmed the candidates for the states May fifth, twenty twenty-six primary ballot, including key races for U.S. Senate, governor, attorney general, secretary of state, and Ohio Supreme Court positions. Notable names on the ballot include Democrat Sherrod Brown for Senate facing Republican Jon Husted, and for governor, Democrat Amy Acton paired with David Pepper against Republican Vivek Ramaswamy and Robert McColley. Voters need to register by April sixth for the May primary or by October fifth for the November third general election. Early in-person voting starts April seventh, and polls are open from six thirty a.m. to seven thirty p.m. on Election Day. A new law changes absentee ballot rules, requiring them to arrive by the close of polls at seven thirty p.m. to count, except for military and overseas voters.
