Show Notes

In the ongoing bribery trial against former FirstEnergy executives Michael Dowling and Chuck Jones, the defense has requested U.S. Senator Jon Husted of Ohio to testify via video on March thirteenth. Husted, who prefers to stay in Washington during U.S. military actions against Iran, has asked for remote permission. The request came up earlier this week in court, outside the jurys presence. Husteds link to the case dates back to a December eighteenth, twenty eighteen meeting in Columbus with Dowling and Jones, and Governor Mike DeWine. Trial evidence includes text messages from twenty eighteen and twenty nineteen showing open talks between the executives, Husted, DeWine, and ex-Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder. The judge has not ruled on the video testimony yet, and DeWine remains on the witness list despite saying he has no idea if hell be called. Randazzo, once a defendant, died last year.
