The Fourth Street Bridge, a historic structure linking Covington and Newport, was demolished in March 2023 to make way for a new bridge. The Flying Pig Marathon route will be adjusted due to the bridges closure, with organizers planning a revised course for the 2026 event. The new bridge, costing $99.6 million, will feature three steel arches and two lanes each way, along with shared use paths on both sides, set to open by summer 2028.
