New Deseret News publisher Burke Olsen on why the Church owns a newspaper and its mission to be a voice of ‘light and truth’

Founded in 1850 by pioneer members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the publications began with the motto of "Truth and Liberty." In January of 2023, <a href="https://www.deseret.com/authors/burke-olsen">Burke Olsen</a> was <a href="https://www.deseret.com/2023/1/18/23561176/deseret-news-announces-new-publisher-and-editorial-leadership-changes">named publisher of the Deseret News</a>.
