<p>During the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, on July 8, Brigham Young University distance runner <a href="https://byucougars.com/athlete/m-track-field/1298364/kenneth-rooks">Kenneth Rooks</a> fell — and then got up and<a href="https://www.thechurchnews.com/members/2023/7/9/23788729/kenneth-rooks-falls-comes-back-win-steeplechase-national-championship-lds-social-media"> won the 3,000-meter steeplechase</a>. The victory — as well as his tenacity — has thrust him into the national spotlight. After the race, he was widely featured in headlines and on social media.
