Romans Series: In Romans 11:1-24, Paul explains that God has not rejected Israel despite their current unbelief; a remnant remains chosen by grace. Israel's rejection of the gospel has opened the door for Gentiles to be included in God's salvation plan. Using the metaphor of an olive tree, Paul illustrates how unbelieving Israelites were like branches broken off, while Gentiles were like wild branches grafted in. However, Paul warns the Gentiles not to become arrogant, as they rely on the root of Israel's covenant promises, and he assures that Israel can be grafted back in if they return in faith.
